WHY USE FIRE RETARDANT?
Fire retardant can be easily applied around your home or structure.
Retardant application will last long length of time such as a declared fire season.
Although home hardening and defensible space will increase chances, fire retardant will be an additional protection applied directly to the vegetation around your structure.
Professional fire departments use this product to slow wildfire spread and contain wildfires around their perimeters.
WILDLAND URBAN INTERFACE (WUI)
According to the U.S. Fire Administration WUI is the zone of transition between unoccupied land and human development. It is the line, area or zone where structures and other human development meet or intermingle with undeveloped wildland or vegetative fuels.
More than 46 million residences across 70,000 communities were at risk for WUI fires in 2020.
HOW TO PROTECT YOUR HOME
Long-term fire retardant has been used for over 60 years.
Long-term retardant is used to create a fire break – but is also effective as a direct attack tool.
Since retardant does not rely on the water it contains, it can last months, or until washed away by significant rain.

In the 2019 paper, Wildfire Prevention Through Prophylactic Treatment of High-Risk Landscapes Using Viscoelastic Retardant Fluids, the authors stated that “polyphosphate fire retardants are a critical tactical resource for fighting fires in the wildland and the wildland-urban interface. Municipalities, businesses, communities, and homeowners are catching on to that fact and are starting to use ground-based retardants proactively to protect critical areas from wildland fires.
